Thinking in the distant future

The future is something I like to talk about, but I prefer to think about the distant future. A thousand years is a good number.

There’s a TV series called Futurama and the story goes about a guy who’s frozen by a thousand years since 1999. The way he interacts with the new world seems very exciting to me and that’s one of the reasons I’d like to imagine a distant future.

I believe I’ll stay in Chile because I have a curiosity about how different everything can be. The people and their way of thinking about a lot of things. A thousand years is a lot. Just thinking about society in the year 1021 sounds very crazy.

Technology these days has had important improvements very fast, I can’t imagine the things we could be using in the future. I like the idea of thinking in space travels being accessible to everyone or even having real contact with species from other planets. Those topics seem very promising to me, I hope I could be alive to see just a little part of the future I imagine.

I’m not sure if I would like to stay there. I mean, I have my family and closest friends at this time and I believe it would be so hard thinking of losing moments with them. I think it depends. If they’re still alive, I only would like to visit the future, but, on the opposite side, I will stay there (if it’s better than our time, obviously).
